Located in the heart of New Brunswick, Nirvanis started off in 2008 with serving the best Kati Rolls, Gyro Rice Platters & our famous signature White Sauce then after moving a few doors down to our larger location in 2016 we quickly expanded our menu to include more IndoChinese, Kebabs, North Indian Curries & some fusion favorites like our Crispy Chicken Tikka Sandwich or the Butter Chicken Pasta. We take pride in serving students, families, professionals and foodies. Experience our modern yet authentic vibes in our cozy interior and amazing hospitality and vibrant dishes just steps from Rutgers University and downtown also GUESS WHAT?? Our Vision

THE STORY OF NIRVANIS

Niraj began working at Sultan Wok 3 in Englishtown, NJ at the age of 13, and went on to explore other restaurant jobs that eventually led to the birth of Nirvanis. At just 21, what started as an idea became reality, and by the age of 22, he doors to Nirvanis officially opened. From those young beginnings, the restaurant quickly turned into an overnight success. On day one, long lines formed which was a testament to the authentic and unique flavorful dishes being served. From the start, Niraj made the decision that Nirvanis would stay open until 4 AM, seven days a week, to serve the growing demand. After years of popular requests from thousands of customers to take our White Sauce home, Niraj decided to commercialize the famous White Sauce marking step one in entering the retail market. With plans to expand the product line, more sauces and products will be introduced in the future.

OUR HISTORY

From humble beginnings in a tiny hole in the wall 650 sq ft restaurant to a popular growing brand with our own bottled signature white sauce in retail and loyal customers all over the country since 2008 - Here’s how it all unfolded…

2008 HERE'S HOW IT ALL STARTED IN A 650 SQ FT LOCATION

We opened on June 28, 2008, and quickly became popular overnight in our tiny 650 sq ft spot on Easton Avenue. We were the first in New Jersey to introduce Kati Rolls and Gyro Platters like Chicken Over Rice, Lamb Over Rice, and Mix Combo Platters and our famous White Sauce from day 1 people gravitated to us from everywhere from lunch to late night. We then expanded our menu. Staying open until 4 AM from day 1 helped word about us spread quickly.

2016 EXPANDED TO THE LARGEST LOCATION ON THE STRIP

In 2016, expansion became inevitable, going from the smallest to the largest restaurant on Easton Ave marking a new beginning for us! At our new location we offered seating with 2 dining rooms, one in the front and a much larger one in the back of the restaurant for our guests and quickly expand our menu to introduce the best of what Indian culinary has to offer. We are also BYOB so guests can enjoy their favorite bottle with their meal!

2025 FAMOUS WHITE SAUCE FINALLY GETS COMMERCIALIZED

In 2025, after years in the making, we finally brought our signature White Sauce to retail! Known as the ultimate universal condiment, this customer favorite has been requested by thousands over the past two decades. It only made sense to bottle it. Today, our White Sauce is available through our online store and select ethnic retail locations, marking the beginning of its journey into homes everywhere.
